I am a functional Potter currently working out of North Caldwell New Jersey. I Graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art Spring of 2017 with a BFA in Ceramics. I have always been interested in creating art; painting, drawing, and even set design. But during my time in college I fell in love with creating functional ceramic work. I find functional art rewarding to produce. It brings beauty into the everyday life. The things we choose to live with and use says a lot about what we value.
I work with a variety of different stoneware's at cone six. I enjoy how the different raw textures and colors interact with each other. When I glaze, I enjoy using neutral warm colors. I spray on glazes to create a gentle transition between the glazed surface and the raw clay making the whole piece cohesive. I enjoy making tableware because it brings people together over a meal. I love creating planters because I like the way that plants bring nature, beauty, and patience into our lives.
